Thinking Rich; The Growth Mindset

What is thinking rich? Can we think rich even if we don’t have an abundant of resources?

What ideas build the concept of thinking rich? Can you really build success by thinking rich?

thinking rich 3.jpg

The idea of thinking rich depends on your confidence in your ability. It’s believing in yourself and understanding the fact you’re competent enough to accomplish what could seem near impossible. Human consciousness is capable of so much but more often then not we stand in the way of our own accomplishments.

Why Think Rich?

Thinking rich is important in building one’s own self-esteem. It’s so easy for us to take the path of least resistance and live day-to-day with no goals, no passion. Thinking rich may not always be the easiest thing to do but it’s one of the biggest factors to becoming one’s best self.

Barriers to Thinking Rich

Nowadays it can be so hard to think rich. We’re so overwhelmed and consumed by everyday products and technology that a lot of us neglect simple routines that could ultimately propel our happiness exponentially.

Day by day neglect eats away at our self-esteem. We learn to live with the pain; we bury it so deep in our psych we almost forget it’s there. Thinking rich is acknowledging the truth about life and being able to rise out of the madness. We are the master’s of our own destinies; we create our future, we can’t be happy just gliding; through drifting through life.

Principles of Thinking Rich

Thinking rich is acknowledging the automatic negative thoughts (the ANTs) and being able to move past them. Thinking upbeat and positive we are better able to find our flow rather than interrupting ourselves with negative thinking. Make sure you’re mind is one that nurture’s not sabotages your well-being.

Upbeat & full of energy – living with passion & purpose. Thinking rich is taking control of your life and moving progressionally to where it is we want to be. In time our progress will inspire and self-motivate but until then we must focus on action. The fruits of labour will come in time, begin sowing and soon enough you’ll begin reaping what you’ve sown.

Be resourceful. Thinking rich, moving towards success means not squandering resources and opportunities. Thinking rich we are more in tuned with our surroundings and better able to recognize the opportunities that precede us.

Think action. Thinking rich is thinking action. It’s thinking for today, not tomorrow. Planning is important but planning obsessively without taking action is just wasting time. Be deliberate with your word; if you claim you’re going to do something don’t stop till you do it.

Focus on closing & completing. Don’t just set your sights on accomplishing everything. Live with purpose, do those things that are most important and most urgent in that moment. Tackle your biggest problems first, your biggest projects, and don’t stop till you’ve got something to show for.

Thinking rich is a perspective. Thinking rich is never feeling down because we know mistakes are all part of the learning experience. Don’t be afraid to think rich and don’t let others convince you you’re foolish for doing so. Thinking rich is a successful mindset that guarentees abundance whether be relationships or resources.

Accomplishing Goals

What is it you want to accomplish? Maybe you want to start living a healthier life? Maybe you want to start saving money for the future? Start saving for a dream home? A future business?

focus

Whatever it is you want to accomplish there are fundamental steps to making these changes occur in our daily lives. The biggest factor without a doubt being focus. Without focus we wander lost and without purpose. With focus and concentration we can strive to live purposefully, taking actions to improve the overall quality of our lives bringing us close to the dream we’ve established for ourselves.

To reach your vision it must be deeply engrained, your actions must come from a place of passion. Your vision should be your first thought when you wake and your last thought before going to bed. Your vision should be something you cannot go without, something no one can convince you to shy away from.

8 Principles to Accomplishing Any Goal

Visualize
Visualize where it is you want to be, visualize the end result, and visualize the journey. Where is it you want to be at the end of your transformation? Is it realistic? Can you see yourself taking the steps to get there?

Create a vision & action steps
This is where imagination becomes so important, we need to see it before it ever actually comes into being. Note everything you may encounter, note every opportunity, every risk, create actions steps incase these scenarios ever come into play.

Commit to action
A goal is just an idea without effort and consistent action. Wake up everyday with the intention to knock something else off the list.

Keep the end in mind
We all begin from different starting points, for some success and happiness might be harder to attain than others. Keep the end in mind; don’t quit, you’ll get there in time.

Accept failure and uncertainty
The road of success is buried in misfortune, don’t let failure affect your emotions. You’re going to fail its inevitable, you’re only human… we all make mistakes. Learn from your mistakes and move past them, don’t linger.

Evaluate and re-evaluate
Evaluate yourself, what does your progression look like up until this point? What could be done differently? Are you really utilizing your resources most efficiently? Your time? Are you taking the proper actions? Do your action steps need to be revisited? Is something missing?

The biggest question we should ask ourselves is “knowing what I know now, am I taking the best possible direction to reach my outcome?”

Things change that includes our vision and priorities. The more we come to understand about life, human nature and wholeness the more we redirect our energy to gain purpose from our actions. The more we understand our feelings and emotions the more aware we become and the more willing we are to make the correct choices.

Revisit your vision
is it what you truly want? Are you truly willing to sacrifice everything necessary to accomplish this vision? Are you fooling yourself? Or do you truly believe?

Give your best effort and persevere
If you’re completely sold on your vision and completely willing to sacrifice whatever it is to get there then there’s no better time to start than right now. Effort is between you and you, don’t limit yourself; work for everything you deserve.

Stay poised, don’t get down on yourself if you’ve been at it for a long time. If your vision is really worth it you’ll stick with it. Failure and mistakes are just stepping stones, don’t let them define you. Remember, if it was easy everyone would do it. Not everybody can musker up the strength and courage but for those who can glory awaits.

Reducing Stress Through Self-Expression

It’s human nature to react to stress in a fight or flight pattern, its natural to be fearful but not healthy to live in it. We need to learn to cope and overcome stress; we need to learn to manage our responses to our external environment. We need to understand ourselves and how to manage our stress levels.

self expression

Endorphins can be a natural pain and stress fighter, secretion of endorphins leads to a feeling of euphoria. Endorphins can be released from repetition, doing something novel and new or from doing something exciting and thrill-seeking. Really we can become accustom to anything, and the habit itself can release these chemicals.

The idea of understanding how endorphins work goes hand in hand with being able to monitor and control them. Rather than being in the passenger seat there are ways we can intentionally cause these chemicals to flow.

In the case of reaching a healthy euphoria it begins with the physical; exercise and self-expression.

Exercise releases endorphins, improves sleep and removes toxins through sweat. There any many variations of exercise one can incorporate into their daily life. It doesn’t have to be super stressful it can be fun and entertaining. It’s important to stay body smart especially as you grow older begin to lose muscle and use of some of your functions. It’s important while you’re still young and capable to engage your body, muscles and joints to ward off signs of possible disability in the future. In the case of your health its critical we are proactive rather than reactive. If we wait for the instance to react it may be to little to late.

Aside from exercise, self expression through various forms of art is a good way to release stress and can be considered therapy allowing us to release pent up thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Acts such as listening to music, writing, or drawing allows us an outlet to reflect on ourselves and our circumstances allowing us to see it from a different light. We can easily become prisoners of our own perspectives when we refuse to be open-minded. Self-expression allows us to be passionate for something outside of ourselves and helps to develop a positive mindset. Art therapy can help to develop one’s patience and understanding, it can help broaden their scope and to see from an objective lens. It’s a means for controlling emotions and negative feelings channeling them into something productive. It’s not about the end result it’s about appreciating the beauty of life.

A lot of the time our emotions work against us and we can become our own worst enemy. Participating in exercise and various forms of art we move outside the realm of thinking and allow ourselves to find our flow. Taking action in some form of hobby we allow ourselves to create rather than destroy potentially releasing the massive benefits of euphoria.

Follow your inner moonlight; don’t hide in the madness” – Allen Ginsberg

Learn to take the time to pause. Learn to take the time to care for your body and mind. Little acts can go long ways in relieving stress even if you don’t fully understand the benefits.

“Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth in uglier ways” – Sigmund Freud

This is the idea. We must remain true to ourselves and our feelings. We live in a world filled with destructive triggers its up to you to find the light. Adjust your physiology and your psyche will follow. Smile more and you’ll flutter feelings of happiness, laugh more and you’ll begin to feel joyous and more socialable. Focus on the creation process, don’t allow yourself to get bored and dwell on the past but instead to take initiative to relieve the suffering.

Building Self-Esteem & Following Your Word

your word

It’s crazy what we can accomplish when we really set our minds to something. When all distractions are eliminated and focus is at its peak we’re able to accomplish so much it’s ironic we accomplish so little.

What do you want to get done today? What’s today’s top priority? If you could reflect at the end of the day what is it you want to say you did?

Do you wake up in the morning with achievable goals in mind?

It’s difficult. Not everyone knows what it is they want to accomplish. Most of us have been laying back and relaxing so long we forget we’re capable of achieving.

We neglect ourselves till our self-worth is diminished and we no longer value ourselves. When we neglect action we begin to believe life’s opportunities are based on luck. We begin to believe all power is out of control and things will never change.

Wake up with a sense of purpose. Where do you want to be within a week’s time? A month’s time? Start to live according to your plans.

Build your self-confidence and self-esteem with little steps. Begin with something small and gradually challenge yourself more and more as you build momentum.

Follow your word. Your word is everything to yourself and others.

What is your word? Your word is following through with whatever it is you say you’re going to do. Your word is integrity.

Your word builds other people’s faith in you. Without following through on your word you become unreliable and toxic anchor. Following through with your word you can build the greatest of plans. Following through with your word you can build the strongest of support systems and a favorable reputation.

Where to Begin:

1) Write things down. More often then not we have so much on our plate our brain decides out with the old in with the new. We begin to discard thoughts that deem unimportant to the current situation. If you can’t take action now write it down and take action when the opportunity presents itself.

2) Be honest with yourself and others. Part of following your word is not offering false promises. We have to be honest with what we are truly capable of so we don’t overpromise. Be humble, more often then not its better to undersell that way you can exceed expectations.

3) Have good intentions & strong morals. Life is full of different influences, don’t let them distract you and throw you off. Living according to your values and purpose will become its own reward over time. Don’t deviate.

4) Hope for the best but be realistic. Don’t let doubt limit your potential. When you say you’re going to do something do it with a positive and open mind, don’t let stress get in the way. Choose not to complain or dwell but rather to look at the situation in a new light.

5) Remember the concept of karma. Do unto others as you wish to be done unto yourself. Live life in a purposeful way and gradually you’ll build a network of like-minded individuals. There world is full of infinite possibilities and the internet offers many ways to find social groups. Choose to create and publish, find your niche. Don’t be limited to your local community, get out there.

Remember you can build true value by living through your word. Choose to lead by example, not everyone is ready to live in such a way. Don’t procrastinate, start taking action and conquer anything that plagues you. Don’t let fear stand in the way from you living the life you’ve dreamed of. Start with little steps and begin from there, life doesn’t get easier we just get wiser and better at managing it.

Remember this concept of self-esteem and don’t forget it:

“Self-esteem is like a difficult-to-cultivate flower. It requires frequent nurturing that occurs when you keep your word and follow through on your promises.” Derrick Bell

Overcoming Worry & Self-Doubt

worry and self doubt

Getting your mind on your side working as a friend instead of a foe sounds a lot easier than it is. There’s many things you could easily give up if you were to listen to your biggest critic but just because you may not see results immediately doesn’t mean the action isn’t worthwhile. Although you may not be relishing in the fruits of your labour stick with it, good things happen with time.

Don’t talk yourself out of living the life you’ve always dreamed. Living better begins with you. What are you willing to sacrifice to get to where you want to be? Are you letting something hold you back that could easily be changed? Most of us are.

Most of us have silly habits that we’ve established over the course of our lives; Silly habits that restrict us from accessing our full energy and distract us from being our best selves.

Nourish your energy or just monitor it till it depletes, truthfully the decisions are up to you.

“The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself the more energy you will have” – Norman Peale

Dedicate yourself to a higher purpose, begin to live soulfully. Find your voice and let it speak, do things that nurture your heart and mind. Find a channel in which you can influence others, have solid reasons behind your actions.

Live for something other than yourself. Stop living with such a short-term perspective; begin with the end in mind.

“You can’t build a reputation on what you’re going to do” Henry Ford

Organize yourself and establish a plan. There no reason to start selling your plan to others or convincing others to jump aboard until you’ve done your due diligence.  You can’t be expected to manage others if you have yet to learn to manage yourself.

It takes time, practice and following through with your smaller plans until you become consistent enough to follow through with bigger ones. Understand that gradually you will have the skills you need if you dedicate yourself fully to your plan.

“If you hear a voice within you say you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced” – Vincent Van Gogh

Learn to rid the negative voices; learn to get them on your side. The voices will always be there it’s inevitable but they can be silenced through consistent practice.

“The sharpest minds often ruin their lives by over thinking the next step, while the dull win the race with eyes closed” – Bethany Brookbank

This has been me for the longest time (not to say I’m the sharpest mind but) I have been stuck in limbo contemplating the next move for a long time. Don’t let this be you, don’t let over thinking ruin you.

Don’t let self-doubt stand in the way of the things you truly want to do. When you begin to think feelings of self-doubt, ask yourself “what’s the worst that can happen?”

Worry helps no one and only creates more problems, choose to let go of your problems and to begin accepting what is. It is what it is, start accepting life and finding solutions to move past your problems rather than lingering in them.

Worry and self-doubt can destroy you mentally, physically and emotionally until you’re completely depleted of all your resources and begin feeling lost and hopeless.

We’re not all the best at everything, matter of fact most of us just wish we were good at something. Find your strengths and work on your weaknesses… realize everyone has the same twenty four hours in a day; the difference is what you do with them. Stop pouting and complaining and instead start sacrificing those things that don’t equate to the overall end vision.

Realize that maybe you can’t change everything just yet but what you can do is start taking charge. Grab the bull by the horns and continue practicing till there’s no more self-doubt and that momentum is all that is. Take action so one day you can replace your doubt with confidence and faith in your future.

Reinventing Yourself

reflection

No one said life was easy and it’s apparent its not. If there was one guide to living the best life then no other guide would ever need to be made. If there was a magic pill or some easy way I would have found it by now but trust me there isn’t.

We all search for answers to please us. We question ourselves, we question our purpose. Some of us over time lose ourselves and begin to question our values. Through this self examination we become fixated on things we cannot change rather than things we can. We begin paralyzing ourselves while reflecting on the past or living in hope of the future.

We become our own worst enemies battling with our minds for what we want.

Why do people experience crisis in their lives?

People experience crisis in their lives because they can’t accept the truth of reality. Reality is hard. Reality is tough. More often then not these people have been disillusioned for a greater portion of their lives and are in tough hole to get out of. Inevitably these people come to experience “reality checks” and realize that their life is nothing that they had planned.

Why Plan?

If you don’t give yourself direction the wind will decide for you. Happiness and success isn’t something you just stumble upon its something you strive towards. Living without a plan is like shooting at a dart board with a blindfold on. You may hit your mark but most likely you’re shooting blindly and odds are you’ll never come close to your target.

Guidelines to Managing Action

    • Set daily, monthly, annual and long-term goals.
    • Evaluate your current self. How do you currently spend your time? What could you be doing differently? Can resources be leveraged differently? More efficiently? What are your biggest distractions? Can you practice moderation?
    • Rely on lists. Forget about the traditional to-do lists, instead make day or time specific lists. Any task that is “iffy” in terms of being completed can be organized in a “Someday/Maybe” list.
    • Have a system for your lists. Have a filing system and specific categories. Some categories could possibly be a “projects” list, a “next actions” list and a “waiting for” list.
    • Evaluate based on a weekly review. Ensure your brain is clear and all loose strands of the past few days have been collected, processed, and organized.

Its ALL ABOUT YOU!

Remember that your quality life will look different from my quality life. We are all unique and have different needs and wants from one another. Don’t steal someone else’s vision, create your own. Establish what’s important to you and what’s worth working towards.

Create a system to reach your desired goals. Be specific with the action steps you need to take to get there. Again, consider making lists to identify the new changes you’ll need to make.

Action Steps to Reinventing & Modifying Behaviour

    • Wake Up Early.
    • Make lists everyday.
    • Prioritize your tasks.
    • Complete your lists.
    • Do the hardest tasks first.
    • Tidy & remove all clutter.
    • Think rich. (upbeat, positive and focused)
    • Save 10-20% of your income.
    • Control your thoughts and emotions.
    • Schedule uninterrupted blocks of time.
    • Read & improve your knowledge.
    • Work in 20 minute spurts.
    • Spend less time sitting.

Reinventing yourself takes time don’t move away from the process. Start today not tomorrow. If you can’t take action at this very moment plan proactively. Learn to be reliable and to count on yourself. Get your energy levels up and be healthy. Unplug from all electronics and find quiet time to recharge. There’s no success without failure, take everything you’ve learnt and let it change you. Focus on changing your inner self and the outer world will follow.

Conscious Entertainment

Why do our homes seem like consciousness sinkholes? The moment we get home we plunge into our unconscious behaviour from the moment we get home to the moment we leave for work the next morning. Sitting has become a disease. It’s so easy to be pre-occupied nowadays, if we’re not lost into our phones most likely we are lost into TV shows, movies or music. We become so lost in our behaviour that the night passes with absolutely nothing getting accomplished.

It’s so easy to get mesmerized. Whether it be fantastic writing or eye-capturing graphics the fantasy is real. We’ve become so subdued by the reflection that we become lost and disassociated in our actual lives.

I’m not knocking TV shows, movies or music… I’d never do that, I’ve done my fair share of participating. What I’m trying to rationalize is conscious viewing.

Rather than binge watching shows/movies we should be more deliberate with our entertainment. Its fine to get lost into a show but at what cost?

Our sources of entertainment have become sinkholes for our behaviour. We should be more deliberate with how we spend our time. Watching TV is fine but watching TV for two/three hours every single night gets a bit costly. We begin to avoid the daily practices we should be participating in. Television breaks will, it depletes willpower.

It’s like sitting in a closed room with nothing but donuts in front of you. It’s only a matter of time before you break and have one. This is the same kind of influence television has on us. Although we may be able to avoid the television periodically, it’s only a matter of time before we plug ourselves back in.

Whatever happened to going outside or reading a book? It seems so unnatural this day in age. Considering most people experience anxiety or ADHD symptoms it makes what should be usual definitely unusual.

All of our unhealthy symptoms are a sign of neglect. Neglecting to be informed, neglecting nature, and neglecting to care for one’s self. We need to begin to challenge ourselves, we need to unplug from technology and begin to enjoy the outdoors. We need quiet and piece of mind.

Being constantly bombarded by messages and never slowing down can become a barrier to one’s personal reflection. We need a quiet pause to analyze and evaluate, to follow our trains of thought and to do our best thinking.

We need to work on building up our attention span. Begin to socialize more, listen when people speak. Read books and learn everything we possibly can. We need enjoy different events and participate in new and exciting activities. Schedule blocks to enjoy yourself. Whether it be watching TV, playing on the internet or going to events be deliberate with how you spend your time. Time spent only becomes wasted once we lose purpose for our actions. Remember that taking time to do the things should never be an issue, the issue is when you become fully consumed into whatever it is you’re doing and forget about our other concerns.

Remember, fantasy is cool but its not real life; live consciously and be mindful in whatever it is you’re doing.
